The week of “Prayer and Fasting” for the community of Show Low ends today. There’s been a good response, and we are hopeful that the monies raised will meet the needs of those asking for help over the winter. What needs? Everyone has basic needs of food, clothing and shelter. Then too, there are other essential things, like power, heating and water, each of which requires money. And beyond these, there are needs for transportation, fuel, insurance, and living supplies. We who have good jobs (or a retirement income) and are maintaining ourselves may take all of this for granted. […]

Aside from Christmas, Halloween is the most celebrated of any American holiday. Even the Robertson family on “Duck Dynasty” had a Halloween party and dressed up in their favorite costumes. Valentine’s Day falls into the same category as Easter, Christmas, and the other special days of remembrance that Christians celebrate. They are all derived from pagan culture. The Greeks had Cupid, the little guy with the arrows aimed at lovers’ hearts, and they had Estre, the goddess of fertility and spring, and there was the German Tanabam celebrating the evergreen tree, and so on. New Hope Christian Fellowship is a nondenominational Christian church in Show Low, Arizona.

This Show Low nondenominational church is comprised of an independent body of believers, who have found comfort in biblical love, fellowship and spiritual unity. We practice New Testament Christianity in adherence to the Word of God, in faith, in obedience, and servanthood. We are dedicated to that which blesses the Lord Jesus Christ and lifts up His commandments, especially to love one another.
