God’s Government

Published October 6, 2013

God’s government never shuts down. It’s good to remember this with all the hullabaloo now over our government’s epic failure to persevere and continue. It’s just one more reason for people of faith to remember that man’s way and man’s means are always subject to failure, but God’s kingdom and His righteousness shall not pass away. Jesus said, after warning us to not be anxious, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you” (Matt. 6.33). I know, it may seem at times in the crunch of the moment that we’re goners. Our […]

A Test for Reality

Published August 18, 2013

I like watching “Through the Wormhole” with Morgan Freeman on the Science channel. This week’s presentation was on “reality.” Listening to what they had to say one would get the idea that reality is only an illusion. In summary it’s the gospel: Jesus Christ crucified dead, buried, and raised again to life as a firm testimony to His truth. But, in […]

Published November 12, 2011

How often do we act on it? Or do we tend to think that using His power would be taking advantage of God? The prophet Jeremiah quoted God as saying, “For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope” (Jer. 29:11). […]
