I wrote a novel around the Mayan end date of December 21, 2012. You can purchase it from our NHCF store via our online shopping cart here.

Like any other human speculation, we can swing to an extreme. Do you remember Y2K? We didn’t crash. Well, it could be the same thing with 2012. One extreme says it’ll be the end of everything; another extreme says it’ll be the bright new age of man. I feel more inclined to the latter. After all, when I read the Bible I don’t find a 2012 kind of cataclysm. Oh yeah, there’s plenty of cataclysmic language in the Bible, but it’s not formated in Mayan calendar dates. The cycles of time are still under God’s control, and for that matter, so are all living things. The “end of man” is still a God thing, and I suppose I’ll get mail on this.

Anyway, there are a number of tantalizing “physical phenomena” that ratchet-up the potential out-play of this date. More later.

My husband and I were just talking about this topic last night. Although the Mayans were very advanced, how they could possibly know the date to which the Bible refers in Revelation? We believe there are signs of the Apocalypse coming, but it will always be unknown to man exactly what God has in mind for “the end”. Still, it’s a fascinating subject. Thanks for your input.

No where in my bible does it say the time and date in which all things will end. Jesus said these things are the beginning of sorrows.(Mt.24:8) He later says in verse 36, “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.(meaning God of course). So, whatever the Mayans were on to has nothing to do with the end of the world.

What I’ve heard is that the Mayan’s predicted that it will be the end of the world, and there are theories that there is some kind of spacial activity (I don’t know if I used that terms correctly, but something like an asteroid) that apparently is going to bring this about. Considering that every other prediction they’ve made has come true, it freaks me out a lot but I don’t really want to think about it because if it will happen there isn’t much to be done. Plus there’s a possibility that it is also just a sign of rebirth for the Earth… but I just don’t know. But I haven’t read stuff by Andrew Smith. Any information about that?
